I'm over 18 and I've been RPing for over six years now and I follow all your standard RP rules. I roll with third-person storybook like most people. I'm a firm believer in quality over quantity, but virtually no one can make a single sentence into something golden. I tend to write a lot, but I don't expect you to write the same amount, by any means. I'll always try my best to reply as soon as possible, but school and general real-life always come first. I am a chemical engineering major, so I have a challenging curriculum, and I'm a member of an a cappella group with long rehearsals. If given the choice, I will have to pick my schoolwork and group over lines, but that doesn't mean I don't love my distractions. I live in the Midwest, so my timezone is CST.
I play mostly in PB games and PSLs, but I've recently started playing a select few celebs. I don't really have restrictions on PB lines or games! I've played in town, supernatural (both vampire/werewolf/supernatural races and superpowers), faux-celeb, high school, college, family group PSLs, espionage, and futuristic games, so really, I'm up for practically anything. Creativity is full of win, but I can be a sucker for the cliche stuff, as well. Things that interest me? History, fantasy, magic, cute lines, anything out of the ordinary, humourous lines, characters that aren't one-dimensional, supernatural, superpowers, vampires, anything set in England or Europe in general, intelligent characters... Even if something isn't listed here, feel free to ask me about it. I love all sorts of lines, but variety is key. I'm much, much better at playing females than I am at playing males. I've played guys before, don't get me wrong, but they've all been either effeminate, arrogant, or antisocial. But if you're willing to deal with my continuous development of a male character, I would love to play a guy for you. I am not limited to an age group! I've played characters in their 30s and 40s, but I've also played characters in their early teens. Early to mid 20s is my comfort zone, but I like being taken out of my comfort zone once in a while.
Fandoms are awesome. I started roleplaying in Potterverse, so I'm most comfortable with those characters, but that does mean I won't play characters from other fandoms. My fandoms currently include Harry Potter, Merlin, Misfits, Chronicles of Narnia (movies more-so than the books at the moment), Sailormoon, Bones, Disney, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series, His Dark Materials, and X-Men (to a certain degree). I might be forgetting something else, but who knows. Feel free to ask!
PB-wise, I can definitely stray from the list I've provided in this journal, but please don't ask me to play a scenester or a myspace kid. I don't feel comfortable using them as PBs, and I don't feel comfortable playing against them, either. I try to avoid overused PBs, as well, but feel free to suggest someone. I happen to be a sucker for romantic lines, but not all of them have to be bffls who suddenly realize that they were made for each other. Romantic lines should be creative, and even if they're cliche, it would be nice to develop them over time, not in a matter of days. (If you are seeking a romantic line, please note that I will only play het lines.) I also love platonic and familial lines. In fact, sibling lines are some of my favorite to play because the sibling dynamic is always changing and unique. I don't write adult scenes unless I'm comfortable scening with you; generally, I stick with the fade-to-black deal.
I highly prefer threads, but AIM logs can be arranged if necessary. AIM is not my biggest fan, so it often kicks me off at random, which is one of the biggest reasons why I prefer threading. I happen to be a little AIM shy, but I can get over that if we need to establish storylines or anything. I'm willing to join or move lines to communities, so suggestions are greatly appreciated. If you can jam with everything I've mentioned, then hit me with your best shot before I bust out some moves and Pat Benetar karaoke!
